Boldly Going

Boldly Going                            5-23-98
I am a luminous body no less than the stars in the heavens we see
And the stars are not just up there in the sky, they are all around me.
I am the sun in a galaxy of my own creation and I provide life for all
I have no one else to blame if and when I choose to succeed or fall.

The obstacles in my path are secret gateways to a stronger self,
Go through or around them, my reactions will take care of themselves.
To find ones true self is the longest journey any man could take
We find so much along the path, the sacrifices and all that’s at stake.

But I am a private universe that is now ready to expand it’s reach
An evolutionary entity that has grown beyond capacity, ready to breech
There comes the time in every living cycle when we must expand
From enormous planetary bodies to the tiniest grains of sand.

I am boldly going where I have not ever thought to go before
I am taking an excursion of not just the body but of my very soul.
Where my expedition of the self takes me I don’t want to know
For if man knew the ending of each day would he want to go?
I declare my independence from old habits and restrictive beliefs
I am the architect of my own life and by design, it is me that I seek.
